Edwin Sykes's Sea of Stars game soundtrack singles released!

At last, the Sea of Stars game soundtrack "suite" (15 minutes in duration) has been broken up into separate singles so you can listen to the tracks of your choice.—Check out Battle and Chase if you want to get right into the action. (See below.) Listen to the extended End Theme if you require a "call to duty" first. Or listen to Exploration if you just want to "space out, man."

In any case, when you do, you'll be listening to the remarkable music of Edwin Sykes—music that transports Sea of Stars players out of the real world into a star-spanning space adventure!

Edwin was born in New Jersey, U.S.A., but has spent most of his life in the United Kingdom. At age 15 he began to pursue an interest in composing music and three years later won Third Prize in the UK National Young Composer of the Year Competition.

In march of 2006 Edwin completed an MA in Composing for film and television at the National Film and Television School where his studies were supported with scholarships from the PRS Foundation and the Musicians Union. Before studying at the NFTS Edwin studied composition at the Trinity College of Music and composing for the screen at Bournemouth University. While at the Trinity College of Music Edwin won first prize in the Daryl Runswick Prize For Composition as well as silver medal for the graduating class of 2001.

Since then he has written a great variety of music for film, concert and dance including feature films such as Tuesday, Resurrecting the Streetwalker and The Hit Producer. He has composed music for all episodes of the radio series The Scarifyers (staring the late Nicholas "Brigadier Leftbridge Stewart" Courtney, David Warner and Terry "Davros" Molloy), as well as Hellbound Heart, Hammer Chillers and Blood on Satan's Claw, all of which have been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 and Radio 7.

Theme from The Scarifyers by Edwin Sykes

Edwin's concert music has been performed by members of the London Symphony Orchestra, Spiral Saxophone Quartet, The Ebony Quartet, The Paddington Brass Quintet and The Ariel Ensemble in San Francisco.

We do hope you'll enjoy Edwin's music. Please share the links. We think his compositions are worthy of special notice. Are we biased? See what you think. Here are the singles!

The complete and official Sea of Stars soundtrack is still available, of course. Note that, for the price of the entire soundtrack ($5) you get ALL other Digital Eel Bandcamp soundtrack releases!

Protagon VR

Protagon is a hybrid casual game that blends concepts from mini-golf and pinball with an intuitive VR interface. Just pull the handle on the ball, aim and release to launch it into the zero-gravity course!

Infinite Space III: Sea of Stars

Sea of Stars is a starship roguelike, a sandbox adventure game of interstellar exploration and combat. Travel from star to star, upgrade your ship with new systems and weapons, build up your flotilla with allies and mercenaries, and take on a variety of alien menaces.

Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space

Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is a hybrid "roguelike" game of space exploration and starship combat set within a peculiar, as-yet-unvisited region of the galaxy known as the Purple Void. Each time it is played, a new and different "sector prime" and its vast frontier are randomly generated. Locations of stars and nebulae, homeworlds of alien races, distribution of lifeforms and artifacts, plot-twisting quest events--the whole game is remixed.

Say trick or treat!
